Sea Isle City is bringing back the excitement of Phillies baseball with another watch party at Excursion Park!
Following the overwhelming success of the summer event, the city has announced the "Phillies Phamily Phun Watch Party" for Wednesday, September 20, starting at 6:30 p.m.
The idea for this fun-filled evening was conceived by Bill Kehner Jr. and the team at Sea Isle's Recreation Department. After the incredible turnout for the Phillies "Shimmy Down the Shore" event on August 20, the Recreation team thought residents and visitors would enjoy another opportunity to gather and cheer on the Phillies.
While the August event attracted thousands of fans and included appearances by the Phillie Phanatic and former players, the September 20 watch party will be a more low-key affair. City spokesperson Katherine Custer explained, “This is a little more low-key than the last one. It’s nothing on the same scale.”
Even though the watch party will be smaller, attendees can still look forward to a great evening of Phillies fun! The free event will offer complimentary snacks and giveaways for fans. The game between the Phillies and the New York Mets starts at 7:10 p.m., but the festivities will kick off at 6:30 p.m., so fans are encouraged to arrive early to secure a good spot.
Seating is limited on the benches at Excursion Park, so attendees should bring a folding chair or beach blanket to relax on the lawn while enjoying the game.
